The great need children have is to know and cherish the infinite value of God. Therefore, we want children to become so acquainted with the Word of God that they treasure Him alone as The One who saves and satisfies the heart. Here at GBC, we use the Children Desiring God curriculum. The goal of the curriculum is to fuel spiritual desire in children by exalting the greatness and worth of God and His glorious work through Christ.

NURSERY

6 mo. – 3 yrs. | 10:30 a.m. – noon
At GBC, we provide a nursery as a ministry to parents who are training their children to sit with them during the worship service. During our time with the children, we do not simply babysit them. Rather, we view the nursery as a launching pad for nurturing the faith of the next generation. A Sure Foundation: A Philosophy & Curriculum for Ministry to Infants & Toddlers is designed to help our ministry to infants and toddlers be an integral beginning — a place of prayer where young children hear foundational Bible stories, learn simple truth statements, and begin to memorize scripture verses. At GBC we believe that the nursery is an opportunity to impart God’s truth to the youngest children among us. We pray that through the nursery a firm foundation will be laid for who God is, what He has done, and what He is doing in history.

CHILDREN’S DISCIPLESHIP HOUR (Sunday School)

9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
We have been commanded to acquaint the next generation with both the acts and the words of God. When we blend our own hearts of faith and affection for God with the powerful stories of our great God of the Old Testament, and the testimony of the character and acts of Jesus, the Word of God will go forth with power and conviction. Little children can see and know the greatness of God. By showing children the heart of God through Old and New Testament stories, we have the privilege of being part of God’s work in their hearts to set their hope in Him (Psalm 78:5-7).

PRE-K THROUGH KINDERGARTEN
He Has Spoken by His Son: New Testament Stories for Young Children
Theme: The New Testament beautifully unfolds the wonder and power of Jesus Christ. This curriculum explores the greatness of God in Christ by noting key themes found chronologically throughout the New Testament.

1ST – 5TH GRADES
How Majestic is Your Name:
A Study for Children on the Names and Character of God
Theme: The names of God are wonderful revelations of His majestic character. This study presents the Hebrew names of God in the Old Testament and the names of Christ and the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. Each lesson encourages children to see and rejoice in the goodness and greatness of God as they explore the meaning of His glorious names.
